[Nested Modular Squares]

With only a few exceptions, the square nesting boxes shown on this page were made from scrapbook paper, purchased in pads or as open stock. The paper came in 12 inch squares and was cut down into smaller sized sheets as needed for the inner nesting boxes. Each lid was assembled from 4 units and each base was also assembled from 4 units, with each unit folded from one sheet of paper.

Scrapbook paper is more difficult to work with than traditional origami paper because it is thicker and stiffer, but it creates sturdy boxes which work well for nesting or stacking.
