Comments:This nesting set of three boxes was made as a birthday gift for my sister who has stacked the boxes one upon another for display in her livingroom (see side view).

I reallly like the bouquet of red silk roses which my sister has placed next to her boxes -- what an elegant and dramatic accent!

Three different types/weights of paper have been used for these boxes. The lacquered paper was easier to work with than I had anticipated, but the other two types of paper -- especially the reversible Thai paper -- were much stiffer than the lacquered paper. This presented a challenge during assembly.

As a general rule, it's better to use the same type/weight of paper for all units in a modular project. However, violating that rule has allowed me to produce some interesting textural contrasts in this set of boxes.
