[Medium Modular Octagons]

Each of the octagonal boxes shown on this page required eight sheets of paper measuring either 8 1/4 inches (21 cm) square or 8 1/2 inches square. Each lid was assembled from four units, and each base was assembled from four units, with each unit being folded from one sheet of paper.

Using double-sided paper results in the best looking octagonal boxes. Single-sided paper can be used but is less effective.

The folding and joining of units for octagonal boxes is complex. Of all the modular origami boxes featured on this site, the octagons are probably the most challenging to create.
