| Comments: | These neat little cube-shaped boxes take their name from the wicker boxes traditionally used in Japan for storing kimono and accessories.
Tsuzura are the easiest and quickest to make of the various square boxes presented on this site, although the lid with Fans featured here is a little more challenging than the basic Tsuzura lid.
The reverse side of the paper shows on one side of each fan-shape, so double-sided paper works best for this lid style. However, single-sided paper can also be used effectively, as shown by three of the lids here.
This single-sided paper was a souvenir I purchased at the gift shop of the beautiful Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park. If you are ever in or near San Francisco, don't miss the chance to enjoy this wonderful garden and tea house. |
