Comments: | I made these non-modular triangular boxes from two types of scrapbook paper: an 8 1/2 by 11 inch (216 by 279 mm) pad, and an open stock sheet measuring 12 inches (30.5 cm) square. I cut each to the size I needed, based on desired dimensions for the finished box. Tomoko Fuse specifies A4 size paper (210 mm by 297 mm) for this type of box. However, her instructions allow for significant adjustments to to those dimensions. By experiment, I discovered that it was often possible to vary the dimensions even more than what is shown in her book. In general, triangles are easier to make than the other non-modular shapes. I would recommend to beginners that they start with triangles before attempting squares or pentagons. Except for one in the middle of the bottom row, all boxes shown here are fairly easy to create. Triangle Base 1 is easier than Base 2. However, for very deep bases, the Triangle Base 2 works better. |
