Comments:These non-modular hexagonal boxes are very challenging to make because of the many precise pre-creases required and the use of a tricky "twist-down" technique.

Scoring the pre-creases helps a lot, but not all paper can withstand scoring. The types of paper used here performed very well, in addition to being quite beautiful. The kingin used for the base has metallic flecks which complement the metallic highlights in the yuzen chiyogami used for the lid.

These three boxes were sized so that they could be nested one with another, making it easier to store them until they were needed.
