Comments: | These non-modular hexagonal boxes are very challenging to make because of the many precise pre-creases required and the use of a tricky "twist-down" technique. Scoring the pre-creases helps a lot. If you have already mastered Tomoko Fuse's non-modular pentagon boxes, then the hexagons will be easier; many of the folds/steps for her hexagons are very similar to those for her pentagons. The washi and kinzuri paper used here works particularly well for non-modular hexagons because it has the strength to withstand scoring, sharp creasing, and curling -- along with the ability to hold curled shapes. And, of course, it is incredibly beautiful paper! |
