Comments:These boxes are from Tomoko Fuse's Fantasie series. The basic model for the series is Fantaisie A (shown in the lower row at left). Other lids in the series all begin with the same basic folds as Fantaisie A but then incorporate modifications. For example, Fantasie C boxes feature a spire (see upper row at left).

Tomoko Fuse's lid design includes an inner shell which strengthens the lid's structure and also enhances the appearance of its interior. This inner shell is not structurally necessary if you are using paper which is a bit thicker/stiffer than most origami paper. The mandala paper used here allowed me to omit the inner shell and I have done so in some cases. However, I did insert an inner shell in a few of these boxes as a purely decorative element.

I have also added a liner to the floor of each box shown here. These liners give the masu bases a neat interior finish.

Note that my mandala paper had to be trimmed down from 14 cm square to 13.5 cm. square This was necessary because I wanted the center of the mandala pattern to be positioned precisely in the center of my lid, but I discovered that the pattern was printed slightly off-center on the mandala sheets.
