Comments:These beautiful boxes feature a most unusual lid. Four vanes rise upward from the corners of the lid, tapering toward the center to form a towering structure with a graceful crane at its pinnacle.

This crane is not created separately and then attached to the lid. Instead, it is an integral part of the lid structure.

Cranes (tsuru) are an important symbol in Japanese culture. Traditionally, they represent good fortune, long life, and fidelity. After World War II, cranes came to symbolize hope for peace and healing.

Because cranes mate for life, boxes featuring this symbol are appropriate for presenting gifts at engagement parties, wedding showers or receptions, and anniversary celebrations. These Towering Crane boxes could also be used as lovely party favors for guests on any of those occasions.
