Comments: These dainty boxes would be ideal for presenting small jewelry gifts at the holidays -- or perch them on the branches of a Christmas tree as colorful, shimmery decorations.
 
Combining single-sided foil with chiyogami washi was a little challenging because the foil was so thin and fragile compared to the thicker, stronger washi paper. Also, foil is easily marred by fingerprints and fingernail scratches, although embossed foil tends to hide those problems better than regular foil.
