Comments:These tiny boxes are challenging to construct, but their size makes them perfect for presenting small jewelry gifts such as rings or earrings.

This group of boxes was inspired by my acquisition of some very beautiful yuzen washi paper sold in the 3 inch (7.5 cm) square size. To match up my new washi with similar types of paper in the same size, I cut down larger sheets of origami paper, including different types of metallic gold paper, with each 5 7/8 inch (15 cm) square sheet yielding four smaller sheets.

The soft, cloth-like washi used in these boxes did not crease as cleanly as I would have liked; this quality, along with the folded paper's bulkiness, made precise assembly difficult. This type of paper might work better for larger boxes than these tiny ones.
