*Note that two size numbers are given.

The larger number is the measurement from the outermost tip of any arm of the star to the outermost tip of the arm opposite.  (Diagram A)

The main body of the star, from which the arms project, has the shape of a hexagon. The smaller number is the measurement from any corner of the hexagon to the opposite corner. (Diagram B)

Comments:These modular star-shaped boxes were designed by Robin Glynn. I found the diagram on the web as well as a video tutorial by Sara Adams.

I was very challenged by this project and had to watch the video several times before I could succeed in making my first star-shaped box. Even with the help of the video, I am not yet entirely satisfied with how my stars turned out, so I will keep practicing and try to do better next time.

Double-sided paper works best for this style of box. When single-sided paper is used, the top surface of the lid has a plain white area in its center. The outer floor of the base is almost entirely white. Also, there are white areas on the inner surfaces of both the lid and the base.

The white area in the center of the lid can be made more interesting by decorating it with stickers.
