| Comments: | Double-sided paper works best for this style of box. The single-sided paper used here looks fine on the outside of the box but results in a rather plain interior for the base.
To make the interior more interesting, the base of each box has been enhanced, either with a colored felt liner or with ladybug stickers from Jolie's Boutique. Also note the ladybug stickers on the lids.
The folding and joining of units for octagonal boxes is complex. The octagon base is especially difficult. Of all the modular origami boxes featured on this site, the octagons are probably the most challenging to create.
Scrapbook paper is heavier and stiffer than origami paper, increasing the challenge -- but producing sturdy boxes. |
