Comments: | The boxes featured here have lids which are slightly different in appearance from the Octagon Clematis lids shown in Tomoko Fuse's book. This is due to the fact that I have not completely opened up the petals, and I have given the whole flower a more swirly shape. I chose to make this alteration because I was using single-sided paper which was plain white on its reverse side. When the Clematis petals are fully opened, quite a bit of the reverse side of the paper is exposed. I did not want so much plain white to appear there. Using double-sided paper would solve this dilemma and allow me to open the petals more fully. I may try that in the future. |
