Comments: | It was a joy to work with the beautiful washi paper that I used for folding this collection of pentagonal boxes. The vibrant red and green colors, along with the metallic gold highlights which are typical of yuzen washi, make these boxes perfect for Christmas gift-giving. Scoring the precreases made it much easier to execute the tricky "twist down" technique used in both the base and the lid of these boxes. Washi paper is both strong enough to withstand scoring with out any breakthrough and also flexible enough to take the "twisting" motion this design requires. The precut rectangles came folded in their packaging but I was able to remove those fold lines by ironing the paper with a warm (not hot) iron on the lowest steam setting. |
