Comments:This type of non-modular hexagonal box is very challenging to make because of the many precise pre-creases required and the use of a tricky "twist-down" technique.

Scoring the pre-creases helps a lot, but not all paper can withstand scoring. The paper used here performed very well, taking creases neatly without any breakthrough at the intersection of multiple creases.

I have tried folding the Hemp Leaf lid with many different types of paper and not all of my attempts have succeeded. Some papers were too soft and floppy, others too stiff and bulky, but the types of paper shown here were absolutely perfect -- supple, yet strong, and also incredibly beautiful.
