Comments:These non-modular hexagonal boxes are very challenging to make because of the many precise pre-creases required and the use of a tricky "twist-down" technique. Scoring the pre-creases helps a lot.

If you have already mastered Tomoko Fuse's non-modular pentagon boxes, then the hexagons will be easier; many of the folds/steps for her hexagons are very similar to those for her pentagons.

The Nepalese lokta (mulberry) paper used here was a bit thicker than other types of paper which I have used for non-modular hexagons, but it still worked well. It had the strength to withstand scoring and did not break through at the intersection of multiple creases.

This paper also had the ability to hold curled shapes, especially if the part to be curled was dampened a bit first -- a technique called wet-folding.
