Comments:I learned how to make these very pretty boxes during an Origami Connect class taught by the designer. The class was presented via Zoom by OrigamiUSA on Februrary 5, 2022.

These lidded boxes are a bit different from most of the other lidded origami boxes I have encountered because here the lid fits down inside the base of the box instead of fitting over the top.

This type of lid creates a dramatic and intriguing appearance, while also producing a practical box for securely holding candy, jewelry, or other gifts.

If you turn one of these boxes upside down and examine the underside, you will note a strong resemblance to Leyla Torres' "Deep Love Box" model.

However, Jannie Van Schuylenburg applies a very different treatment to the flaps on the top surface of her model, which creates four heart shapes pointing outward from the center of the box like petals on a flower.
