Comments: | These boxes are from Tomoko Fuse's Fantaisie (or Fancy) series. The basic model for the series is Fantaisie A. Others lids in the series, such as those shown here, all begin with the same basic folds as Fantaisie A but then incorporate modifications to create the B, C, and D versions. All of these Fantaisie C lids have an inner shell which strengthens the structure and enhances the appearance of the interior. If using thicker/stiffer paper, the shell is not needed for structural reasons, but still looks nice. To get a square sheet of paper the right size for making the inner shell, take a sheet the same size as that used for the lid, fold it into four equal quarters; then cut out and use one of the quarters. I have added a liner to the floor of each box shown here. The liner strengthens the base and gives its interior a neat finish. To get a rectangular sheet of paper the right size for making the liner, take a sheet the same size as that used for the base and cut it in half. |
