This modular origami model was constructed entirely without the use of glue or any adhesive. The finished structure holds together securely because of how the units are joined to each other with overlapping and/or interlocking folds.
This wreath looks beautiful from both the front and the back, making it ideal for hanging in a window.
It is a sturdy holiday ornament which can be stored and reused year after year, thanks to the very secure locks between the units.
Double-sided paper is best for this model. The paper used here is especially effective.
The front side of the paper has a dark green pattern on a lighter green background. The reverse side of the paper is the same except with all the green colors more muted.
I alternated units folded with the front side of the paper dominant and units folded with the reverse side of the paper dominant. The result is fascinating, but might make you dizzy if you look at it for too long.
This wreath earned a Blue Ribbon in the origami category at the 2020 Charlotte County Fair (FL).
