No Glue UsedThis modular origami model was constructed entirely without the use of glue or any adhesive. The finished structure holds together securely because of how the units are interlocked by inserting a tab-like part of one unit into a slot or pocket of another.

This modular origami kit is one of the nicest I have ever seen. The double-sided kraft paper included with this kit is exactly right for the model. The 75 gms weight of the paper is perfect -- it takes creases easily and crisply, but is heavy enough so that the units really hold their shape, which makes assembly easier. The colors of this duo paper are also perfect -- a vibrant red on one side with a metallic gold on the other side. The gold has some sheen to it, but is not flashy/shiny like foil. This paper has a lightly ribbed texture which makes the red and gold colors seem richer, while also helping to keep the units firmly locked during assembly. The instructions in the kit are very clear and easy to follow. They include a combination of diagrams and photographs, accompanied by text in multiple languages. This kit is great for folders who are not yet familiar with the construction of three-dimensional modular designs. The instructions take you through the entire assembly from first step to last -- very helpful. Some diagrams/instructions for this type of model only show you how to connect the first three to ten units, and you have to figure the rest out from there. However, this kit shows the whole process. I was amazed that such a striking, complex ornament turned out to be fairly easy to make. I am definitely planning to attempt more of these stars with other types and sizes of paper. Using the 15 cm (5.9 in) square sheets which came in the kit produced a very large finished model -- suitable for hanging in a window but too big for hanging on a holiday tree. This dramatic ornament received a Blue Ribbon in the Arts & Crafts judging/exhibition at the 2022 Charlotte County Fair in Florida.
